How To Repair Chipped Edge On Wood Table Edge

I haven't repaired also many pieces of piece of furniture, but I trusted my abilities and with the most amazing wood filler I was able to repair the corner with no trouble.

SUPPLIES USED TO REPAIR AND PAINT MCM DRESSER

-Sherwin-Williams Emerald pigment in Atomic number 26 Ore

- Minwax Loftier-Operation Woods Filler ( I've tried many wood fillers in the past and this i is by far the best. Information technology dries rock hard in less than 30 minutes and is gear up to be sanded and painted )

- Cheap pigment brush for priming

- 80 and 120 dust sander newspaper for Corner Cat

- Straight edge and bit cardboard (putty knife, one-time credit card, etc)

- Vasoline

- Paper Towels

As well the harm to the corner, the dresser was in slap-up shape. There were a few fries and knicks in the veneer on the drawers, but they were super easy fixes.

HOW TO Prepare A DAMAGED CORNER
(Keep in mind I am by no ways a professional person. I just found this to be the easiest fashion to repair a damaged corner and thought it would exist helpful to share)

one. Using a utility knife, scrape off any loose wood or veneer around the damaged area. This gives the wood filler a nice foundation to attach to.

2.Gather a few scraps of paper-thin and a straight edge (I used an old medical bill of fare). Apply a small amount of vaseline to the superlative of your card or straight border (this helps the forest filler from sticking to the card) and slide it nether the damaged corner. This allows for a overnice shine foundation for your wood filler.

3. Mix a small amount of woods filler together and apply it to the damaged corner. I used a popsicle stick for mixing and applying. Add scraps of cardboard to the corner to form the wood filler into a correct angle.

4. Remove the paper-thin before the wood filler fully dries. Information technology dries quick and then y'all won't accept to leave it there long.

5. Let the forest filler fully cure (30 mins or so) so sand it smooth. If the corner isn't fully square or smooth you lot can use another small about of wood filler and repeat steps 3-5.

Afterwards I was satisfied with how the corner was repaired I gave the dresser a good sanding, cleaned it well with Unproblematic Green then added a coat of my favorite primer to the body and drawers.

I lightly sanded to smoothen out the primer then added two coats of my favorite colour, Sherwin-Williams Iron Ore. I used leftover paint that I've used throughout my ain dwelling house and since information technology has a satin finish there was no need to add together wax or poly.

I styled the dresser in my entryway with my new favorite piece of art and a few items I had around my home. The Fiddle Leaf is from Michaels (in-store only), the books were thrifted, the vintage suitcase was from a recent flea market and the carpet is from V Below .

The corner may not exist perfect, only I think it turned out pretty good and if anything it looks MUCH meliorate than it did before.

Of course, I love the color, but the make clean lines and geometric particular on the drawers give it only enough interest and make it perfect for a boys room or office. I tried to convince Owen to let me motion information technology into his room, but he wasn't having information technology.
